PSJA Early College High School Volleyball Athlete Commits to the University of Central Arkansas
SAN JUAN – PSJA Early College High School (PSJA ECHS) Volleyball Athlete Alexa Carranza signed a letter of commitment to The University of Central Arkansas on November 15, 2023, in front of her family, friends, and coaches.
SAN JUAN – PSJA Early College High School (PSJA ECHS) Volleyball Athlete Alexa Carranza signed a letter of commitment to The University of Central Arkansas on November 15, 2023, in front of her family, friends, and coaches.
Carranza is a dedicated student and athlete who has committed to the University of Central Arkansas. She has been offered a 4-year scholarship to continue playing volleyball at the collegiate level.
During her tenure as a PSJA ECHS Lady Bear, she earned numerous accolades including 3x District Champion, 2x Bi-District Champion, 3x Libero of the Year, Setter of the Year, received recognition for 1,000 digs recorded in her high school career, and was voted in as First-Team Academic All-State Volleyball recipient for the Texas High School Coaches Class.
While her athletic skills shined bright on the court, Carranza excelled academically as well. She is in the Top Ten percent of her graduating class and is a member of the National Honor Society (NHS), she also received recognition as a Heisman Scholarship standout at PSJA ECHS.
Additionally, she was part of the PSJA Early College Program and will be graduating high school with college credit hours. She plans to pursue a Bachelor's Degree in Communication Disorders while at Central Arkansas.
“I would like to thank my high school coaches, my parents, and my travel team coach Ryan Richardson,” said Carranza. “Thank you to all those who have supported me along this journey.”
